Hugo Saunders came to film from a background in the classical arts, which he practised for many years, teaching painting in Florence, Italy, and exhibiting and working on commissions around the world before turning his hand to cinema. He now is a camera operator on many films and television shows in his native Scotland. He is a keen rock-climber and pursuer of the outdoors.
