Lucas Acher is a Brazilian filmmaker based in São Paulo and recent graduate of NYU Tisch’s Graduate Film Program, where he was awarded the Martin Scorsese Young Filmmakers Scholarship. LASER-GATO (2026) premiered at Cannes in La Cinef, where it won the First Prize, and was made with the support of the Spike Lee Production Fund for thesis films. His second-year film, ONDE OS INSETOS SE ESCONDEM À NOITE, won Best Student International Short at the Palm Springs ShortFest. Lucas is also a Marcie Bloom Fellow and holds a Bachelors from FAAP in São Paulo, where he founded Balcão Filmes.
